Those attributes are also why the company attracts top employees such as Dan Hembree, who accepted the position of service manager at Blount Honda six months ago. Dan has 43 years of experience in the automobile industry, having worked at companies such as Firestone, Kelly Springfield Tire Company and various Honda dealerships since 1985.

 

To say he’s excited about his latest career move would be an understatement. “We have an excellent working environment here,” he said. “Owners Jana and Scott Stubbs share my business philosophy, which is to do what’s right for customers and everything else will take care of itself.”

 

A 1968 University of Tennessee graduate who earned his degree in mechanical engineering, Dan hopes to continue Blount Honda’s tradition of attracting repeat customers.

 

“I realize that we have a loyal following of people who have done business with us for years. They buy cars here, have them serviced here and then buy here again when they want to replace their vehicles. We take pride in the fact that they keep coming back.”

His experience in managing people coupled with his technical background is the biggest strength he brings to the company.

 

“Blount Honda cares about its employees, a rare commodity in business these days,” he said. “When you have happy employees, you’re going to have happy customers. I’m very satisfied being here.”

 

Dan and Sandra, his wife of 34 years, have five children and 11 grandchildren. Outside of work he enjoys riding motorcycles and hunting deer.
